Rostov-on-Don, March 31 – Rescuers evacuated 20 people from the M-4 Don section of the highway near Rostov-on-Don, which was completely closed due to snowfall, Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev said in his telegram channel.
According to him, rescuers made four technical loopholes in the pivot fence that would allow cars to leave the restricted area. At present, 181 people and 111 pieces of equipment are involved in the emergency liquidation.
“The congestion has been reduced from 60 kilometers to 39 kilometers,” the governor said.
A drizzling rain, turning into snow, began in the Rostov region on the night of March 30 and continues to this day. Many kilometers of traffic jams formed on the M-4 Don highway, and traffic was completely blocked on a section of the highway in the Kamensky district. Due to bad weather, a state of emergency has been imposed in five municipalities of the Rostov region.
