An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was registered today, Tuesday, in Kahramanmaras in southern Turkey.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) said in a statement that the shock occurred at 17:49 (GMT +3) at a depth of 5.34 km, and its epicenter was in the Celyangrit area.
On February 6, a strong 7.7 to 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by thousands of aftershocks that killed tens of thousands of people and caused widespread destruction.
