A new Marvel Cinematic Universe character is joining Charlie Cox’s Daredevil: Born Again, and it’s possible that she will become a fan favorite from her appearances in Marvel comics.

According to a new shot taken on the set of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Daredevil: Born Again revival series for Disney Plus, the character of Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, may have made a new buddy. Alongside Cox’s lawyer/superhero, the image provides a fleeting peek at a character that has yet to be announced. It’s not only the concept of a lawyer-turned-superhero this time; that’s a pleasant change.

Compared to the first season of the Daredevil series on Netflix, which was the source material for this character iteration, Daredevil: Born Again has already included many new elements. Even though the new show is at least a resurrection, and Cox will be playing the lead role again, some major modifications have been brought to light so far. First, some main characters from the prior series will not appear in the new one. This features the fan-favorite characters Karen Page (played by Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), who have previously played key roles in the narrative of Daredevil.

Yet, Daredevil: Born Again does not spare any time bringing in new cast members to shake things up. People have published a fresh shot from the set that shows an unidentified actor interacting with Cox’s portrayal of Matt Murdock as he is playing the role of a lawyer. Nikki M. James, an actress, portrays the character’s role (Severance). Despite this, industry insider Jason Kane/Greatphase appears convinced that she’ll be playing none other than Kirsten McDuffie from the Daredevil comics, even though no official information regarding her role has been released. If that’s the case, this will be the first time we see the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the Marvel Comics series, Kirsten is one of Daredevil’s potential romantic interests. But what’s more essential is that one of the characteristics that define Jessica as a character is that she figured out on her own, more or less, that Matt is Daredevil. She spends a significant portion of her professional life dealing with Matt, which results in her making fun of him and attempting to convince him that he is Daredevil. She has the position of assistant district attorney in the city. This platonic relationship develops into something more passionate over time. The two eventually become romantic partners and even open a law business together.

The series may place a greater emphasis on the legal aspects of Matt’s life this time around. Daredevil: Born Again has recruited many attorneys to work in its writing room. A move of this magnitude could open the door to new narrative possibilities previously impossible inside the confines of the Netflix series. One of these tantalizing possibilities includes the possibility that Kirsten McDuffie will be there. Yet, the superhero element will still be covered in detail.

It is abundantly clear that Marvel Studios has no intention of forgetting the action sequences from Daredevil, especially as evidenced by Matt’s hilarious appearance on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the upcoming return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again. Both of these instances demonstrate that Marvel Studios has no intention of forgetting the action sequences from Daredevil. Fans shouldn’t interpret this new information as an indicator of a fundamental shift in perspective but rather as something else entirely. Yet, it will be intriguing to see different perspectives on a character who is already well-liked.

It has been announced that the Marvel television series Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney Plus in the spring of 2024.
