Rudi Garcia, manager of Saudi club Al-Nasr, revealed the reason why Talisca, the star of the team, did not participate alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the Abha match that took place yesterday at Marsoul Park stadium.
Al-Alami was able to achieve a massive victory with a three-goal margin over Abha in the quarter-finals of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Thus, Saudi Arabia’s victory sets an important date in the Cup semi-final against Al Wehda.
Al-Nasr coach reveals the reason Talisca didn’t compete with Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Abha
Speaking at the press conference yesterday after the match with Abha, Rudy Garcia confirmed that Talisca did not participate in the match mainly due to his unpreparedness to face off.
It is worth noting that Taliska suffered from an injury and returned before the match with Abha, and the coach chose not to risk the player by coming on as a substitute.
The Brazilian star came out ahead of Abha yesterday, replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in the 84th minute of the match.
Taliska is considered one of the main elements in the ranks of Al Alama, having managed to score 13 goals in the Saudi Roshen League.
Garcia also stressed during his speech that the benefit of Ronaldo’s presence in the ranks of the Saudi club is to force other teams to play life matches against Al-Nasr because of his presence.
He concluded by saying, “I think we did wonders in the last period after losing a lot of players to injuries.”
