Brazilian Roberto Firmino, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, will move to Spanish side Barcelona on the Mercato next summer as part of a free transfer, according to reports in the English press.

The Mirror newspaper reported that Firmino agreed to move to Barcelona this summer, refusing to stay at Liverpool.

Firmino’s (31-year) contract with Liverpool expires next June and the player has decided to leave at the end of the current season after 8 years at the Reds’ Hoffenheim castle in the summer of 2015.

The Brazilian striker, under the guidance of his German coach Jurgen Klopp, helped Liverpool win the Premier League title in the 2019-2020 season, the European Champions League in the 2018-2019 season and the Club World Cup in 2019.

This season, Firmino has had to fight to stay with Liverpool’s new attacking group, which includes Dutchman Cody Gakbo and Uruguayan Darwin Nunez.
