The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that US President Joe Biden would not accept an invitation to attend the coronation ceremony of Charles III as King of Britain in London.

According to the publication, Joe Biden strives to keep the number of trips abroad to a minimum and make only the most important foreign visits due to fatigue.

Biden plans to visit Ireland and Northern Ireland in mid-April, so a second visit to the British Isles within one month is considered unlikely, the newspaper writes.

The Daily Telegraph added that British Ambassador to the United States Karen Pierce and representatives from Buckingham Palace are in “friendly and diplomatic talks” with the White House about the composition of the American delegation to the coronation ceremony.

It is noteworthy that US First Lady Jill Biden can attend the coronation ceremony of Charles III as King of Britain on behalf of her husband.

Biden is scheduled to visit Belfast on April 11 to attend ceremonies marking the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Belfast Agreement to end the conflict between pro-Ireland Catholics and pro-British Protestants in Northern Ireland.

The newspaper indicates that Biden may meet with King Charles III during this visit.

After that, Biden, who is of Irish descent, will travel to Dublin, which he will visit from April 12 to 15.

The coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London in the presence of two thousand people, including the leaders of France, Belgium, Spain, Japan, the European Union and others.
