Hanoi, April 7 – Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said during a meeting with the leadership of the Vietnam Institute of Atomic Energy (VINAT) on Friday that Russia intends to establish joint production of electronic accelerators for industry and medicine with Vietnam.
“We will make efforts with Rosatom to jointly produce electronic accelerators in Vietnam for use in industry and medicine,” said the vice premier.
He explained that Rosatom has all the necessary competencies in the production of electronic accelerators and has extensive experience in supplying them to foreign markets.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia also considers VINATOM a partner in expanding cooperation within the framework of the construction project in the city of Dimitrovgrad of the International Research Center based on the Multipurpose Fast Neutron Research Reactor (MBIR).
“I learned that scientists from VINATOM are already participating in the work of the Advisory Board. We hope that the Vietnamese side will soon become a full member of the MCI MBIR consortium. This will create a powerful impetus for the development of all of Vietnam. Nuclear science.”
