Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman confirmed on Thursday that an electrical connection between the Kingdom and Iraq will support the Iraqi electricity grid.

During the ceremony for the implementation of the electrical connection project with Iraq, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman noted that the electrical connection project between the Gulf States and Iraq was a dream and a reality that enhances energy security, and that the initiative was from the Kingdom.

Bin Salman added: “The electrical link between the GCC and Iraq enhances the security of the networks between our countries and is part of the projects that will be implemented between us and bring tangible economic benefits.”

And he added: “We are connected with Iraq not by pipes or power lines, but rather by veins and veins, and what unites us is larger and more comprehensive.”
