Military expert and analyst Viktor Litovkin said that the Russian Tornado-S missile system is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 100 km.

In a statement to News.ru, the expert points out that the capabilities of the Tornado-S complex are not inferior to those of its American counterpart HIMARS.

He says: “This system will undoubtedly increase the combat capability of our units. But we must not forget that HIMARS and our system are not a panacea. We need to provide our forces with a full range of weapons, coordinate work, and then tangible results will appear.”

For his part, military analyst Alexei Sokonkin said that the effectiveness of the Tornado-S complex depends on the level of intelligence and target designation.

He says: “The effectiveness of the Tornado-S system, aka Smerch, depends on the availability of reconnaissance and target designation means. Because missiles launched by the latest systems, without GLONASS-GPS, will turn into unguided missiles whose results cannot be predicted and they will fall without impact.
