French Imports of Algerian Gas Increase by 92.1%
According to Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk, the volume of Algerian gas imported by France has increased by 92.1% in the first half of this year. This amounts to roughly half of the total gas imported by France.
Algerian Gas: A Vital Source of Energy for France
The Energy website, as reported by Al-Shorouk, states that Algerian gas now accounts for 49.9% of France’s total gas imports, making it the most important source of energy for the country.
Significant Economic Impact
A document from the French Ministry of Economy and Finance reveals that the value of Algerian gas imports to France is estimated at $1.6 billion.
Growth in Algerian Hydrocarbon Exports
The Energy website also reports a substantial increase in Algerian hydrocarbon exports to France during the first half of this year. The growth is estimated at 35.1% compared to the same period last year.
Increase in French Imports of Algerian Petroleum Products
In addition to gas, French imports of Algerian petroleum products have also seen a rise of 9.6% in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year.
