Friends of Kiev Criticize Russia for Spreading Disinformation, Says Permanent Mission to OPCW

The Fifth Review Conference of the Chemical Weapons Convention was held in The Hague from 15 to 19 May.

“At the Fifth Review Conference of the Chemical Weapons Convention, as well as in previous events held by the organization, we were blamed for the ‘Ukraine and other’ disinformation campaign. It was carried out mainly by those who belong to or are associated with the Euro-Atlantic bloc countries,” he said. According to him, these “friends of Ukraine” said that the Russian Defense Ministry’s warnings about chemical sabotage were lies, without bothering to categorically refute these reports.

However, as the diplomat noted, the Russian side will continue to inform the member states of the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons “about the misanthropic plans of Ukrainian nationalists and their sponsors.”
