German Army Reports Higher Number of Graduates Than Enrollees

The newspaper “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” reports that for the second year in a row, the number of people leaving the German army exceeds the number of people entering the service.

The newspaper writes with reference to the report of the German Ministry of Defense, published today, Thursday: “According to the Ministry of Defense, in 2022 the German army lost more soldiers than it gained.”

She added that last year the German army was replenished with 18.8 thousand soldiers, while 19.5 thousand soldiers left the ranks of the German army. It says that these negative figures are recorded for the second year in a row.

She pointed out that about 183,000 soldiers are currently serving in the German army, while the Ministry of Defense, under his predecessor Boris Pistorius Christine Lambrecht, set a goal of reaching 203,000 soldiers.
