On Sunday, the Department of Information and Information of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced that the region had won the World Regional Football Championship (CONIFA).

The department stated in a brief press statement that “The Kurdistan Region has been awarded the right to host the Football Championship (Kunifa), which is the world championship for the regions.”

She added: “On the specified date in 2024, the region will host the championship matches.”
