Okaz explained that the Africa-2 cable, with a length of more than 45,000 km, is considered one of the longest submarine cables that have been launched in the world, since by the end of the project in 2024 the submarine cable system will connect 33 countries, and will also provide reliable communications and internet services across three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe.

It is also expected that the Africa-2 cable, after the cities of Jeddah and Yanbu, will reach the city of Duba at the end of this year, and will also reach the city of Al-Khobar in 2024, like the Africa-2 submarine cable. will increase the level of information sharing and development of digital business, which will help stimulate the next phase of growth in many economies. Cable will boost economic growth and catalyze change in the broadband market for individuals and businesses.

It is worth noting that the Africa 2 cable will cover the entire Persian Gulf region due to the African Pearl 2 cable spurs, which will add landings in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan. and India, as well as the east coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
