Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was “suited for the position of Secretary General of NATO”, describing the position as “very good and important”.
Asked by a Ukrainian journalist about his perception of NATO leadership, he said: “Great idea. I must announce that there is such an idea. Now I consider myself a candidate, the alliance is stronger than ever.”
He continued: “I do not see any incompatibility in the issue of Ukraine joining NATO as a full member.”
He also stressed that “Ukraine’s membership in the alliance is an opportunity that must happen.”
