Today, Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani opened the strategic Karbala refinery with a production capacity of 140,000 barrels per day.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the government has given top priority to the work to increase the production capacity of the refinery.

Al-Sudani said in a press statement: “We have made it a top priority for the government to work to increase the production capacity of existing refineries by supporting and completing additional production units and encouraging investment in the refinery sector to build state-of-the-art refineries with cutting-edge specifications leading to refusal of imports and transition to the export stage in order to achieve the highest added value of the exported barrel.
