Scientists from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have found the fossilized remains of two marine predators aged 212-215 million years.

And the Chinese news agency Xinhua points out that scientists found these remains in the Tibet Autonomous Region and belong to the predatory sea animal “Himalayasaurus.”

And he adds: Scientists found these remains at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level, 100 km from the climbing camp. And it seems that the movement of tectonic plates lifted these fossils from the bottom of the ocean, and they ended up at this height, experts say.

According to them, these marine predators were about 10 meters long, had an elongated mouth and sharp teeth, fed on fish and invertebrates.

It is noteworthy that currently 170 scientists are studying the state of water and the ecological situation on Everest. This mountain is located on the Qinghai Plateau in Tibet and is known as the “roof of the world” and the “water tower of Asia”.

It should be noted that this expedition is of great importance for studying the impact of climate change and the environment in the Everest region and in other parts of the world.
