Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s top scorer, has expressed disappointment that his team failed to finish in one of four places in the English Premier League, which advances to the Champions League next season.
Liverpool’s absence from the Champions League was confirmed after Manchester United beat their guest Chelsea 4-0 in the match that brought them together this Thursday night, which was rescheduled from matchday 32 of the Premier League .
Manchester United have received the final fourth card for Champions League qualification next season, along with Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United.
And Mohamed Salah wrote an influential ‘tweet’ on his Twitter account in which he said: “I am completely broken. There is absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to qualify for the Champions League next year and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to compete is the bare minimum. I’m sorry but it’s too early for a positive or optimistic post. We’re letting ourselves down and we’re letting you down.”
