Seoul, April 11 – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said it is necessary to expand and use deterrent forces for a “quickly reinforced” North Korean war amid the deteriorating security situation on the Korean peninsula, North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports.
On April 10, the Sixth Expanded Meeting of the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held at the Eighth Meeting at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee on April 10, chaired by Kim Jong-UN. It should be noted that the meeting is of great significance against the background of the “increasing intrigues of the US imperialists and their treacherous agents in South Korea” who are trying to “wage war”, while the DPRK is taking strategic measures to comprehensively expand and strengthen the war deterrence force. The United States and South Korea also conducted large-scale joint military exercises to “simulate a war against the DPRK.”

Media reported that North Korea is not answering calls from Seoul for a second day

The Central Elections Committee meeting discussed the current situation and the development of various plans for military operations.
“Kim Jong-un stressed the need for more practical and offensive expansion and effective use of the rapidly strengthening DPRK war deterrent force to further tighten control over the security situation on the Korean Peninsula that is deteriorating every day,” the KCNA said.
Kim Jong-un got acquainted with operational plans, other military documents, highlighted the tasks of continuous modernization and improvement of the army’s combat capability.
Earlier it was reported that on April 7, the DPRK stopped responding to attempts by the South Korean side to make daily phone calls through inter-Korean communication channels, including the military line and the Unification Ministry line. The South Korean military said the two countries usually call twice a day at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, but North Korea has not returned calls for five days.
