Geo TV reported that at least four people were killed and ten more were injured in an explosion at a market in Barkhan in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on Sunday morning.
The channel quotes a source in the local police: “The explosion killed 4 people. The wounded have been taken to nearby hospitals.”
According to preliminary police reports, the cause of the explosion was an improvised explosive device that was installed on a motorcycle.
For his part, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the attack and instructed the authorities to take all possible measures to arrest the perpetrators.
“Those who shed innocent blood are the enemies of humanity. Terrorists are trying to create uncertainty in order to achieve their malicious goals. But we will not allow anti-state elements to succeed,” he tweeted.
He stressed that the government will adopt an effective strategy to combat terrorism.
