Moscow, April 30 – Boris Chernyshov, deputy speaker of the State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party, told the News Agency that he wrote a letter to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Chadayev with a proposal to increase fines for leaking personal data to 1 billion rubles.
In his opinion, this amount is sufficient, since the personal data of citizens that can be “leaked” to fraudsters can be used for various criminal purposes.
“In general, we are talking about their sale to third parties, as well as their distribution on the so-called ‘shadow forums’ of the network. Business should be responsible even for the fact of a leak – this is the situation in which our citizens suffer, the state must protect them. But we also have to We take into account the interests of companies, so a higher “ceiling” must also be provided for the fine of such work, “said the politician.
