Acting President of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said that there can be no talk of any negotiations with the current leadership of Ukraine, adding that Kyiv is not responsible for its words.

Pushilin told Russia 24 today, Thursday: “We have no illusions about the Ukrainian regime, and therefore we cannot talk about any negotiating positions and, in fact, about any logical negotiations in general. The Ukrainian regime does not know how to negotiate. Therefore, in my opinion.” There is nothing to talk about deeply with the Kyiv regime, with the current leadership, because they cannot take responsibility for their words.

Commenting on Wednesday’s conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Pushilin said that the Donetsk People’s Republic sees “a very clear and balanced line” from the Chinese leadership.

He added: “In particular, we see an interest in a peaceful settlement of the conflict.”

Yesterday, Wednesday, Chinese television reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. For his part, Zelensky said that the conversation was long and meaningful, and also announced the appointment of a new ambassador of his country to China.

Xi Jinping said that China would send a special government representative for Eurasian affairs to Ukraine and other countries for a detailed exchange of views on a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
