Real Madrid beat their guest Espanyol 3-1 on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in matchday 25 of the Spanish Liga.
Real Madrid’s goals were scored by Brazilian Vinicius Junior, his compatriot Eder Militao and Spaniard Marco Asensio in the 23rd, 39th and 90+3 minutes, while Joselo scored Espanyol’s only goal in the 8th minute.
Real Madrid lifted their tally to 56 points as they finished second in the league and are now six points behind leaders Barcelona, while Espanyol’s balance sheet is at 27 points in 13th place.
Real Madrid’s victory over Espanyol comes ahead of next Wednesday’s clash with Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League final.
Real Madrid won the first leg at Liverpool Stadium 5-2.
