Yahoo News reports that a bipartisan group of US lawmakers intend to introduce a draft resolution on the need for Washington’s continued support for Ukraine and its return to the 1991 borders.
According to the site, the document states that Washington must continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine and seek its victory and “the restoration of its internationally recognized borders in 1991.”
The document calls on the US administration to take measures for Ukraine’s accession to NATO and force Russia to pay compensation.
Among the authors of the bill are two members of the US House of Representatives from the Democratic Party, Joe Wilson and Steve Cohen.
The draft resolution is expected to be submitted later Tuesday, US time. It will be considered by the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The site also notes that there is “growing support” in the Senate for a similar document.
