As part of the “Gift for a Newborn” promotion, which operates in a number of Russian regions, parents at the birth of their baby receive a gift with things that the baby needs in the first months of his life.

According to Roskachestvo, in 37 categories of light industry goods there are colossal labeling discrepancies in terms of composition, safety and, in general, low-quality products. So, for example, among children’s shoes made of artificial leather, which were previously investigated by the organization, 30% of the products were found to violate the toxicity index.
State Duma deputy Tatyana Botskaya also put forward a proposal to control the quality of children’s gift sets. According to her, as part of parliamentary censorship, it turned out that until recently in a number of regions there were imported goods in a gift box.
