In the next two years, in the Russian city of Novosibirsk in western Siberia, it is planned to launch mass industrial production of the heavy strike “Hunter”.
This was stated to the Russian agency “TASS” by the deputy governor of the Novosibirsk region Sergei Syumka. He said, “I think the mass production of the march will start in two years.”
He explained that the Chkalov aircraft plant in Novosibirsk, as a branch of the Russian company Sukhoi, has taken over the serial production of the promising Russian heavy drone Sayad. In December 2021, the first aerial model of the march took place at the Chkalov factory airfield.
And in February 2022, Russian media reported that the Chkalov aircraft plant in Novosibirsk would modernize its production facilities with the creation of a new wing that would specialize in the production of Sayad heavy drones. For these purposes, it is planned to invest in the amount of 2.5 billion rubles.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Sayyad attack drone is designed according to the “flying wing” scheme, using the “Stills” technology to hide from radars. Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said that the Sayyad drone, manufactured by the Sukhoi company, is an intelligent system capable of performing its tasks independently or as part of a group of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles. Its takeoff weight was 20 tons, and the maximum speed was 1000 km/h.
The drone made its first flight on August 3, 2019. In September 2019, the first joint flight of the Sayyad drone with the fifth generation Su-57 fighter took place.
