Washington, March 8 – US State Department spokesman Ned Price commented on reports of Iranian warships entering the Brazilian port of Rio de Janeiro. The United States believes that the Iranian navy has no place in the Western Hemisphere.
It has reservations that the United States recognizes the right of foreign countries to make their own decisions, values Brazil as a “close partner” and intends to continue working with it until the “right signal” is sent to Iran.
Iranian media reported earlier that the helicopter carrier Makran and the destroyer Dana of the 86th Fleet, which are making the first round-the-world voyage in the history of the Iranian Navy, have entered the port of Rio de Janeiro.
