Sukhum hosted a Victory Day historical competition in honor of the occasion.

SOCOM, May 5 – The historical competition “Glory will not stop these days”, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was held at the Moscow House in Sukhum, the press service of the Moscow Cultural and Commercial Center reports.
Eight teams of schoolchildren from Gagra, Gudauta, Sukhum, Golripch, Tkvarchal and Gal regions, as well as from Sukhum, took part in the test.

Opening the event, Maria Soya said: “The main goal of our historical quiz today is not only to expand knowledge among students about the history of the Great Patriotic War, but also to preserve historical memory.”
The jury included well-known historians from the Abkhaz Humanitarian Research Institute named after D. Julia. During intellectual competitions, schoolchildren showed deep knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War. The test questions were divided into three groups – the causes of war, war and its consequences are described in the House of Moscow.
According to the test results, the Sukhum team took the first place, the second – Gudauta, the third – Tkuarchal. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes.
The event was organized with the financial support of the Government of Moscow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow, the Moscow House of Citizens and a branch of the independent state enterprise “House of Citizens of Moscow” – “House of Moscow in Sukhum”.
