Moscow, February 18 – Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told the News Agency that China is interested in increasing the number of regular and charter flights to Russia, and Chinese airlines can operate them.
“We need to restore those flights that were running before the epidemic. Now we need to do more regular and charter flights. We welcome Russians in China,” he said.
“We suggested (increasing the number of flights – Ed.), Because a lot of planes on your side have double registration, so it is difficult for these planes to fly to China. But in this case, we suggested that our airlines open more intercity flights.
Earlier, the ambassador said that China is willing to increase humanitarian cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of education, tourism and culture, including tours for theater groups and fine arts exhibitions.
Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov told the News Agency earlier that Russia welcomes the decision of the Chinese authorities to resume tourist trips for Chinese citizens and looks forward to the speedy resumption of trips of Russian tourists to China.
In January, China resumed accepting applications of Chinese citizens for passports to travel to other countries for the purpose of tourism. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China announced in late January that Chinese travel agencies and online travel service providers will resume organizing overseas group tours and provide “airline tickets + hotel” services for Chinese citizens from February 6 in a test mode. . At the first stage, it is allowed to sell group tours to 20 countries, including Russia.
Deputy President of the Russian Federation of the Travel Industry Dmitry Gorin told the News Agency at the end of January that the domestic tourism industry is ready to establish all procedures for receiving tourists from China within a month.
