The Assault on Southern Artemovsk: Wagner’s Story

Artmovsk (DRC), March 11 – A fighter from the Wagner group told the News Agency that in the southern districts of Artemovsk in the DRC, Russian troops stormed almost every house – there were several enemy groups in each house.

the News Agency correspondents, together with Wagner assault detachments, visited positions recently recaptured from Ukrainian troops in the south of Artemovsk: they made their way through the defense in depth, where every house was fortified and had already turned into a long-term firing point.

And the attack aircraft showed samples of captured NATO weapons at enemy positions: grenade launchers and NATO equipment lying right on the ground. “There were enemy firing points here. NATO sample (caliber) 7.62 mm tapes from the MG-42 machine gun,” he explained.

The bodies of Ukrainian soldiers remained in the destroyed houses abandoned by their comrades during their retreat.

The fact that the Kiev security forces, retreating near Artemovsk, are giving up NATO weapons, has already been told by another fighter of the Wagner group to the News Agency. According to him, in the battles in the Artemovsk direction, Russian fighters acquire a lot of captured NATO-style weapons – not only small arms, but also grenade launchers.

On March 8, the founder of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced Russian control of the entire eastern part of Artemovsk in the DRC. Artyomovsk is located in the Kiev-controlled part of the DRC, north of the large city of Gorlovka, and is an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian grouping of forces in the Donbass.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated earlier that the liberation of Artemovsk continues, and control of the city will allow a deep offensive in the defense of the Ukrainian forces.
