The Super Mario Bros. Movie is expected to be the most successful film in 2023. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, co-produced by Illumination and Nintendo and released in theaters just nine days ago, has already amassed more than $500 million in revenue worldwide.
The movie has amassed $260.3 million in revenue in the United States. It has raked in 248,4 million dollars in ticket sales across the globe.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie has surpassed other video game adaptations to become the best-grossing film worldwide in 2023. This achievement comes on the heels of the film’s status as the highest-grossing film of 2023. Its performance thus far has allowed it to surpass Warcraft ($439M) and Pokemon Detective Pikachu ($433M) in total revenue. It is also the animated film with the second-best performance since 2019. It is only behind Minions: The Rise of Gru in global revenue, which was $942.5 million.
Based on the preliminary figures, estimating that it will be more than one billion dollars by the time everything is said and done is reasonable.
