The Reasons Behind the West’s Attempt to Dominate the United Nations, According to Gatilov

Geneva, April 26 – Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, said that Western countries are trying to resist the formation of a multilateral world by subjugating UN bodies and other international institutions, in which their citizens are overrepresented.

“Western countries also try to resist pluralism by subjugating the secretariats of the United Nations and other international bodies. There has always been a quantitative imbalance in favor of the West, but until this decade, institutions such as the UN Secretariat or the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at least tried to remain neutral and impartial.” – said in a briefing with UN-accredited journalists from the Association ACANU.

Gatilov added that compared to the rest of the world, the group of Western countries led by the United States is in the minority.

Gatilov said earlier that the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights fulfills the tasks set for it by Western donors, and its staff consists almost entirely of Westerners. He also believes that this organization would prefer to ignore the numerous violations of international humanitarian law by the Ukrainian military.
