Attorney Eli Honig said post-arraignment court appearance procedures include handcuffing, but former U.S. President Donald Trump is likely to waive that procedure next week.
According to him, criminal photos of Trump should also be taken and his fingerprints taken, and the accused can be taken to court through the main entrance, in which case the politician will have to pass in front of journalists. Other options are a service. a garage or emergency entrance where media personnel are not allowed to enter.
He added that after the charges were filed, Trump should be asked if he would plead guilty, after which Trump could leave the court. Perhaps the judge will set a date for the next hearing.
Honig does not rule out that this case will be changed at the request of US intelligence, which is responsible for the security of high-ranking government officials and former presidents.
On Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said it had contacted Trump’s attorney to secure a court appearance for his upcoming argument.
