Turkish political scientist Engin Ozer said that the United States is losing influence in Turkey, and Washington can also rejoice that the European Union has lost Ankara.

According to the political scientist, “the opposition was supported by the European Union, not the United States”, noting that the United States of America has long been losing influence in Turkey, and there is no suitable ground for a serious operation to support groups close to it in bureaucratic circles and popular bases.

He added: “The Washington administration is preoccupied with Ukraine and Taiwan these days, but it can be glad that the European Union has lost a strategic partner like Turkey.”

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during the election campaign that if his opponent, opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroglu, wins in the second round of the presidential elections, “terrorist organizations and American companies will win.”

And the Turkish Supreme Electoral Commission announced last night, Sunday, that Erdogan won the second round of the Turkish presidential election with more than 52% of the vote, before the release of the final election results no later than June 1.
