Donetsk, March 14 – Ukrainian forces fired seven 155- and 122-mm shells at Kyivsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk, in addition to shelling Gorlovka with 122-mm shells on Tuesday, according to the DRC’s representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of War-Related Issues. “A fire was recorded from the armed formations of Ukraine in the direction: 13:15 (coinciding with Moscow time) – the settlement of Tonenkoy – the city of Donetsk (Kiev province): 3 155-mm shells were fired, the mission telegram channel said.

At 1240 hours the Ukrainian army fired four 122 mm shells in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk.
According to the agency, at 6.20 am on Tuesday, four shells of the same caliber were fired at the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka.
“Fire from the armed formations of Ukraine was recorded in the direction: 13:25 (coinciding with Moscow time) – the settlement of Tunenko – the city of Donetsk (Kiev province): 6 155-mm shells were fired.” Telegram channel reported.
The Kiev region of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city. Since 2014, when the DNR declared independence from Kiev following a military coup there, the area has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces. The airport is the northern outskirts of the region, completely destroyed as a result of long months of fighting between the Ukrainian army besieged there and Donetsk militias that stormed their positions.
Gorlovka, 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, is home to the Styroll chemical and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest settlements in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka was more than 250 thousand people.
