US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met with his Israeli counterpart Tzachi Khanegbi in Washington, where they reviewed the progress made on the Iranian nuclear program.
During the meeting, both sides stressed their common goal to further strengthen the long-term security partnership between Israel and the United States.
They also pledged to improve coordination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and contain Iran’s regional activities, and reviewed recent joint military exercises between the US and Israeli military.
They welcomed US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s visit to Israel later this week and reviewed efforts to further deepen Israel’s security and political integration in the Middle East region through the Abraham Accords and the Negev Forum.
At the same time, Sullivan reaffirmed US President Joe Biden’s commitment to Israel’s security.
