US Plans to Provide More Military Aid to Ukraine

US national security adviser Jake Sullivan has announced that the United States is constantly preparing new military aid for Ukraine. This suggests that Washington will be announcing additional weapons next week.

Sullivan stated, “We are always preparing packages of new military aid for Ukraine… and I think we can expect another announcement of additional resources, capabilities, and weapons for Ukraine to continue the counter-offensive and repel Russian attacks, sometime next week.”

Recent reports indicate that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky plans to meet with US President Joe Biden during his visit to the UN General Assembly in New York next week.

In light of the Ukrainian counterattack’s failure, the United States is considering supplying Ukraine with more internationally banned cluster missiles, this time of the long-range variety. US officials have stated that President Biden’s administration is close to reaching an agreement on providing Ukraine with long-range cluster missiles.

In response, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, proposed holding monthly meetings of the UN Security Council to discuss the impact of arms supplies to Ukraine on resolving the crisis.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that the US intention to supply Ukraine with American long-range missiles equipped with cluster bombs will further escalate the crisis.

Jonathan Wiener, First Deputy Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs, stated that the possibility of supplying ATACMS missiles to Ukraine is not excluded by the White House. However, an official announcement has not yet been made.
