Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to transport grain and fertilizer to African countries for free if they decide not to renew the grain deal after it is completed within 60 days.

This happened during the president’s speech before the Second Russia-Africa International Parliamentary Conference, where Putin continued: “Our country is conscientiously fulfilling all its obligations, whether it be for the supply of grain, fertilizers, fuel and other goods that are crucial for countries the African continent, thereby contributing to food security” and energy security.”

The President pointed out that some Russian assets, including fertilizers, were frozen in European countries, and Putin expressed his country’s real readiness to donate them to countries in need, but “unfortunately, there are obstacles.”

“I also want to add that if we still decide not to renew (the grain deal) after 60 days, we are ready to deliver from Russia all the volumes that we previously transported to needy countries in Africa for free,” the president said.
