The US State Department announced Washington’s support for the results of the International Criminal Court investigation into Ukraine.

“Over the past two years, the United States has been working to improve and renew its relationship with the International Criminal Court,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said.

He added: “But we are not discussing specific forms of support that we can provide to the court, and we do not want to do anything that would threaten the objectivity of the investigation and deal a blow to justice.”

He considered that the court has the authority to work on Ukraine, and added: “We support the investigation announced by the Prosecutor General’s Office,” noting that Ukraine is a member of the International Criminal Court.

It is worth noting that Moscow rejected the statements of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court about the presence of motives for opening an investigation with Russia of “crimes against humanity” in connection with its military operation in Ukraine.

Russia is not a member of the International Criminal Court, and in April 2022 the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow did not intend to cooperate with the court, but would closely monitor its actions.
