US intelligence analysts believed that the ballistic missiles North Korea displayed on February 8 were fake and that it did not move the real missiles to save them.
“North Korea offered (February 8) these non-functional systems to demonstrate a larger missile force than it has without showing its real missiles,” according to a leaked U.S. intelligence document seen by Reuters.
She argued that North Korea’s goal was “likely to portray an imminent nuclear threat to the United States.”
CNN previously reported that the leak of classified Pentagon documents greatly worried US officials, who expressed fear that the information would jeopardize the security situation and undermine important international relations.
