Even though there are still strikes going on in the entertainment business, A24 has been given permission to continue making Death of a Unicorn, which stars Jenna Ortega.

Last week, it was reported that members of SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) have joined the Writers Guild of America on the picket lines in a disagreement over better pay and more protection for AI rights.

Even though the strike has stopped work on many Hollywood movies, shooting will continue on Death of a Unicorn, which is about a father and daughter who run over a unicorn. It stars Wednesday’s Ortega and Ant-Man’s Paul Rudd.

Production can continue because SAG-AFTRA approved interim agreements for several independent films that do not involve studios, streaming services, or companies represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

“The list includes companies that have signed contracts that are part of the strike order but have also signed temporary contracts that let them return to work. The union said members can work on these projects without breaking the strike order.

On the list of movies that can be made is The Dust Bunny, a horror movie that will star Mads Mikkelsen and Bryan Fuller, who both worked on Hannibal.
