Hulu began rolling out an updated user interface design for compatible set-top boxes, including the Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku. The new design incorporates a vertical navigation sidebar on the left side of the display, which makes it much simpler to navigate to various categories of content, such as TV shows, movies, sports, content that has been saved, and settings.

Hulu has confirmed to TechCrunch that it has already begun distributing the sidebar design to a select group of users and will continue doing so over the next few weeks. Users of Apple TV should start seeing it this week, although it will take some time for it to show up for everyone else.

While using the Hulu app, pressing the back button will open the sidebar and provide quick access to the different navigation options. Users of Hulu who wish to access the app’s top navigation bar must first scroll to the top of the app because the interface still needs to be updated.
