Egyptian media have reported the death of businessman Farid El-Tobghi, chairman of the board of directors of the Bavarian Automotive Group, which owns BMW and former Mini Brilliance agencies.
The son of a businessman’s brother said on his personal Facebook page: “We belong to God and to Him we will return. My uncle Farid al-Tobji has passed away, we ask you to pray for him.”
A memorial prayer for businessman Farid al-Tobji was held at the Al-Sayed Nafis Mosque after midday prayers on Sunday.
Earlier, the chairman of the board of directors of the Bavarian Automotive Group, which owns the BMW and Mini Brilliance agencies, businessman Farid Al-Tobji appeared before the investigating authorities to hear his statements in the reports filed against him on charges of tax evasion. .
Al-Tobji, who previously chaired the board of directors of one of Egypt’s largest car companies, was elected president of the Egyptian Automobile Manufacturers Association in 2019 and has been plagued by multiple allegations from time to time.
The Egyptian businessman entered the world of cars in 2003 thanks to Sheikh Issa al-Kuwari, who was the head of the Emir’s court in Qatar during the era of Sheikh Khalifa.
