The Egyptian Court of Cassation upheld two judgments against Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, sentencing him to a month’s imprisonment.

Mortada Mansour commented on the decision to jail him on Facebook, Mortada Mansour wrote, saying: “Finally, the president of the Al Ahly club jailed the president of the Zamalek club for the first time in the history of the sport. refused the appeal, pending the decision of the heavenly judge Almighty God.”

“Don’t worry about me, lions are not afraid of death, and they are not afraid of imprisonment either. The plan was to overthrow me in the elections by fraudulent means, before that I was fired from the post of president of the club for 4 years, after which the board of directors was dissolved, and the fourth step was my imprisonment.”

And he added: “This step was somewhat delayed, praise God. You knew and believed in it, O people of Egypt and Zamalek fans, I had to completely disappear from the political, sports and media scene at any cost.”

He continued: “Nevertheless, Egypt is my homeland, with her love and her back, and oh fans of Zamalek, whoever agrees with me or disagrees, stand up for your team and support them, and, God willing, they will win. You knew that I would disappear from the stage.”

In its advisory opinion, the cassation prosecution recommended that the two appeals filed by Mortada Mansour against my ruling be dismissed, imprisoning him for a month and a year with a suspended sentence for accusing him of insulting and slandering Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahli.

Mansour first became president of the Zamalek Club in 2005 and the board of directors was completely dissolved before returning again to the presidency of Zamalek in 2014.
