Ten Hag said the match was unworthy of the Europa League and said “I felt today’s match was worthy of the Champions League level, it was a great match.”

Marcos Alonso opened the scoring for the hosts with a great header 49 minutes into the match, while Marcus Rushford equalized for Manchester United in the 52nd minute.

The visitors managed to achieve their goal of progress the previous day by scoring a second goal in the 59th minute, after the ball hit Barcelona defender Julis Conde and entered the Barcelona goal.
