The high-ranking Russian diplomat believed that the neo-colonial policy of the West in the economic sphere would only lead to an increase in the interest of Islamic countries in the use of national currencies in mutual settlements.
This was stated by Ambassador-at-Large Konstantin Shuvalov, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for Cooperation with Organizations of Islamic Countries, during a round table in the Council of the Russian Federation today, on Monday.
Shuvalov said: “The idea of switching to the use of national currencies in mutual settlements with Islamic countries does not disgust them. The new colonial policy of the West in the economic field will only lead to increased interest in this option. “
According to Shuvalov, financial ties between Islamic countries and the West are still very strong, but these countries are increasingly dissatisfied with the current system.
