Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola of Spain commented on the achievement of his Algerian star Riyad Mahrez in Saturday’s match against Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Manchester City achieved an easy victory over Sheffield with three unanswered goals, and the match showed the brilliance of Mahrez, who managed to score a hat-trick and take Manchester City to the final of the tournament.

Mahrez became the first player to score a hat-trick in an FA Cup semi-final since Manchester United’s Alex Dawson scored against Fulham in 1958, according to statistics agency Opta.

Regarding Mahrez’s achievement, Guardiola commented: “Riyad always complains to me when he’s not playing. But when he plays, he always comes on time, and that’s the most important thing. He is a player on the world stage. Satisfied with Riyadh.

He continued: “We saw a great level of Riyadh a few years ago when they were in the ranks of Leicester City, they have big ambitions to score goals.”

Manchester City are waiting in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, where the semi-finals and finals will take place a few years ago, on June 3 next year, its neighbors Manchester United or Brighton, who will play later today.
