On Friday, Kenyan Faith Kipiegon set a new world record in the 1500m at the Diamond League in Florence, Italy.

Kibigon covered the distance in 3 minutes 49.11 seconds, breaking the previous record set by Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba (3 minutes 50.07 seconds) in February 1991.

The 29-year-old Kenyan sprinter is a world and Olympic champion, while Kipyegon won a silver medal at the world championships twice.
