And “TCG Anadolu” is a landing ship (amphibious aircraft carrier) whose construction project started in 2015 at the Tuzla shipyard in Istanbul, and the local contribution to its construction reaches 70%, and 131 sub-parties participated in its construction, in addition to the contribution of Turkish universities and research centers.
According to the Anadolu news agency, the TCG Anadolu ship is a multi-purpose amphibious aircraft carrier, 231 meters long, 32 meters wide, with a maximum payload of 27 thousand tons and 436 kilograms. , with a maximum speed of 20.5 knots.
The ship can carry 94 combat vehicles, accommodate 10 helicopters and 11 attack aircraft, and its hangar can accommodate 19 helicopters or 30 attack aircraft, and can also transport a military contingent of at least a battalion to areas of potential crisis without receiving any support. from the main base.
The ship has a hospital and operating rooms, allowing it to carry humanitarian aid in case of natural disasters.
The TCG Anadolu ship is due to enter service with the Turkish army on Monday in a ceremony attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
