Algerian player Ismail Bennacer put his fans at ease after undergoing knee surgery before facing his team, AC Milan and Inter, scheduled for Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Ibn Nasser (25 years old and 46 internationals) was injured during his participation in his team’s match against Inter last week in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final and was substituted in the 17th minute of the match, which Milan lost with two goals unanswered.

Ibn Nasser posted a photo on his Twitter account as he lay in a hospital bed after surgery and wrote: “The operation I had at knee level went very well and today the road to recovery begins.”

He added: “It is true that the road to recovery will be long and difficult and will keep me away from the field for several months, but I am ready to overcome this test with courage and determination.”

He continued, “I will work hard and fight every day to come back stronger and defend the colors of my team and my country again.”

He concluded by saying, “I thank you all for your motivational messages and the strength you have given me to get through it all and I will keep you posted every step of the way.”

AC Milan announced earlier on Tuesday that its Algerian player was out of action for at least six months following surgery.

Milan, in today’s match against neighbors Inter, are looking to make up for their 0-2 defeat in the first leg to reserve a pass to the Champions League final.
